Visa
applications must be mailed or handed in to the nearest Norwegian embassy. You will find further information on the
English home page of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration at
http://www.udi.no/ -> go to the English icon in the upper right-hand
corner. Here you will find a list of
Norwegian embassies, as well as an application form. All visa applications are handled by the Norwegian Directorate of
Immigration (UDI).
Getting
a valid visa may take two - three months. We therefore advice all delegates and
observers from countries where visas are required to apply immediately! You should also ask embassy personell when
your visa is expected to be ready
Norwegian
PEN is working with the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration in order to
facilitate this process. We therefore
ask you to e-mail or fax a short message to Norwegian PEN (e-mail: pen@norskpen.no; fax:
047-23301101) as soon as your visa application has
been sent to your local embassy. The message
should contain the names of those persons applying for visa, the name of the
PEN Centre, the name of the embassy the application was mailed or handed in to
as well as the date of the application.
If, for some
reason, your visa is not ready on time or you experience any sort of difficulty
obtaining a valid visa, please contact Norwegian PEN (and not the congress organizers) at pen@norskpen.no. Please be adviced that Norwegian PEN is
moving into new offices during the month of June. If you need to reach us concerning visas during this month,
please contact president Kjell Olaf Jensen at k-o-jens@online.no or + 47 2219
4551 (phone) or administrative secretary Carl Morten Iversen at
cmivers@online.no or + 47 2260 8668 (phone and fax) and we will do the best we
can to help you.
